Connect an IBC or other container with a matching 2″ NPS male outlet to a hose with a matching internal diameter. This CPP® adaptor combines a 2″ NPS female Easy-Seal connection with a ¾″ (19mm) Hose Tail connection for dispensing water and other compatible liquids.
What does Easy-Seal mean?
The NPS female connection comes complete with a sealing gasket. As the adaptor is tightened, the gasket compresses against the mating outlet’s sealing face to form the seal. The straight thread holds the connection together; the gasket provides the seal.
No thread-sealing tape or paste is needed on this NPS Easy-Seal connection when fitted to a matching outlet with a suitable sealing face. Conventional NPT threaded joints use tapered threads and normally require suitable sealing tape or compound.
Connections and materials
- Container connection: 2″ NPS female Easy-Seal, supplied with sealing gasket.
- Hose connection: ¾″ (19mm) Hose Tail, for hose with a matching internal diameter.
- Body material: Glass-filled polypropylene.
- NPS gasket material: Polypropylene-based olefin elastomer.
- Product code: HFM2075T027.
Thread and connection compatibility
NPS means National Pipe Straight. Check that your container has the matching 2″ NPS male thread and a suitable sealing face for the supplied gasket. Select by the actual thread and connection, as IBC outlets vary between manufacturers, models and replacement valves.
The hose-tail size refers to the hose’s internal diameter. Use a suitable hose and clamp for the liquid and operating conditions.
Working pressure and testing
Maximum working pressure for IBC applications: 1 bar (approximately 15 psi) at 20°C.
Pressure testing: Tested to 60 psi (approximately 4.1 bar).
These pressures apply to the adaptor only. Follow the IBC tank and valve manufacturer’s operating limits; the adaptor rating does not authorise pressurising the IBC.
Installation Notes
- Close the container valve and ensure the outlet is depressurised before fitting or removing the adaptor.
- Check that the outlet thread, sealing face and supplied gasket are clean and undamaged. Make sure the gasket is correctly seated.
- Screw the adaptor onto the matching 2″ NPS male outlet by hand until the gasket contacts the sealing face.
- From gasket contact, tighten a further 80° minimum to 160° maximum. Use a suitable strap wrench where necessary. Do not exceed 160°.
- Fit the hose fully onto the hose tail and secure it with a suitable hose clamp.
- Support connected hoses and pipework to reduce strain on the adaptor and container valve. Check for leakage under the intended operating conditions before use.
Avoid overtightening, which can damage the threads, distort the gasket or cause leakage. Release pressure before disconnecting.
Material and application guidance
Check the CPP® chemical resistance guide and Material Application Statement for suitability with your liquid and operating conditions.
