Collection: Regular 8

CPP® Regular 8 Camlock couplings and adaptors give you a quick way to connect liquid-transfer hoses, pumps, tanks and pipework. Choose from the eight familiar Camlock types—A, B, C, D, E, F, DC and DP—with threaded connections, hose tails, dust caps and dust plugs.

Manufactured from glass-filled polypropylene (GFPP), the range includes BSP and NPT thread options, mixed-size connections and True 1¼″ Camlock heads. Check the Camlock head size and the hose or thread size separately to select the correct fitting.

Choose your Camlock type

Type / Part Connection
Type A (Part A) Male Camlock × female thread
Type B (Part B) Female Camlock × male thread
Type C (Part C) Female Camlock × hose tail
Type D (Part D) Female Camlock × female thread
Type E (Part E) Male Camlock × hose tail
Type F (Part F) Male Camlock × male thread
Type DC (Part DC) Female Camlock dust cap
Type DP (Part DP) Male Camlock dust plug

Selected sizes also include a lockable Type DC dust cap, listed as Type DCL (Part DCL). Dust caps and plugs protect disconnected fittings from dirt and debris; use them on depressurised connections, not as pressure-retaining closures.

Materials and sealing

The bodies are glass-filled polypropylene. Female Camlock couplers and caps carry 304 stainless steel cam arms, rings and pins and a polypropylene-based elastomer gasket. Male adaptors and plugs mate with the arms and gasket in the female coupler. The Camlock gasket seals the Camlock joint; threaded connections require their own suitable sealing arrangement.

Camlock compatibility: Fits matching-size Camlock heads manufactured to EN 14420-7 or US specification A-A-59326. Select the correct head size and check the mating dimensions.

BSPT, BSPP and NPT threads

  • BSP male connections: BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper), tapered external threads to ISO 7-1, designation R.
  • BSP female connections: BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel), parallel internal threads to ISO 228-1, designation G.
  • NPT connections: National Pipe Taper, with tapered male or female threads to ASME B1.20.1, where listed.

BSP and NPT are different thread standards. Check the individual product specification and use a mating thread and sealing method suitable for the fitting, liquid and operating conditions. Avoid overtightening plastic threads.

Getting the size right

A nominal hose or thread size does not necessarily identify the Camlock head. For example, some fittings with a ½″ connection use a ¾″ Camlock head. The range also includes 1¼″ connections with 1″, True 1¼″ or 1½″ Camlock heads. Check both ends using the CPP® Camlock size chart.

Pressure ratings — water service

Camlock size category −10°C 20°C 65°C
½″–2″ 5 bar / approx. 73 psi 6.5 bar / approx. 94 psi 3 bar / approx. 44 psi
3″ 3 bar / approx. 44 psi 5 bar / approx. 73 psi 2 bar / approx. 29 psi
4″ Not specified 3.5 bar / approx. 51 psi Not specified

These guide ratings are based on water service and apply to the flow-through Camlock couplings and adaptors, not dust caps or plugs. The complete assembly is limited by its lowest-rated component. Verify suitability by testing under the intended operating conditions and meet applicable health and safety requirements. No rating is specified for 4″ Camlocks at −10°C or 65°C.

Before installation

Check the compatibility of the body, gasket and connected components with the liquid and temperature. Secure hose tails with suitable clamps, support hoses and pipework to reduce strain, and release pressure before disconnecting.
